I got this to work fine for scanning to file etc, but only problem is that the scan to evernote function doesn't work. I get the error:

Program's operating environment is abnormal. (0x00000007)
Make sure that ScanSnap Manager is installed correctly.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Cheers

Did you copy the files out of the DMG before trying to edit them? It won't let you save them back into the DMG, I just copied mine onto the desktop, edited them and installed from there.

Hi,
I have a Mac Book Pro and for whatever reason, I must be missing something. When I bring it into Text Edit, it won't let me save the document. How do I get around this? Please let me know.

thanks,
Ross

@WCH: Yes, It should work with your s510 with those drivers, but I'd try the stock install first to see if you can confirm that Fujitsu has fixed this issue. Please let us know if that works for you.

I used the process posted here to run a s300 (using the s1500 drivers) and I have profiles. I haven't tried setting up a scanning to Evernote profile, but I have a high quality image scan setting and a rapid text scan setting.

TechCrunch - thanks for posting this information. Before I go through the steps you outlined at the top of this post, I want to confirm that it should work for my S510 scanner which I'd like to use with my 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook running OSX v. 10.5.8? Even though your steps require installing the S1500 drivers it should work with a S510 scanner?

Also, is Ivan suggesting that if I simply download and install the current version of ScanSnap Manager 3.0.20, it should work without having to go through your steps? Will this version of ScanSnap run on OSX v. 10.5.8?

I previously installed the hack posted at http://yista.com/2010/03/01/fujitsu-scansnap-s510-mac-hack-download/. It works but doesn't allow me to set up different profiles so that I can send my scans to Evernote. Will your solution allow me to set up profiles in ScanSnap Manager?

Thanks in advance for your help!

That's great, thanks! I don't want to risk dismantling my perfectly working s300 setup to test it, but anyone doing a fresh install please confirm that the stock Fujitsu drivers are now working for you as well and I'll post an update to this thread.

Have you tried the latest driver 3.0.20? Ivan is reporting that that driver is working without hacking for his scanner. Maybe Fujitsu and finally just fixed the driver problem, please let us know if that works for you!

That's amazing. That was on a fresh install, not an OS upgrade? My upgrade worked fine, but if Fujitsu has fixed the driver issue that's fantastic! Can anyone else confirm that the new driver works without any hacking?

Thanks for your response. Yes I'm definitely out of luck getting my Fujistu fi-5110C scanner working natively in Mac OS X... So I'm still going to have to use (Windows only) Acrobat 7 Standard that came with my scanner.

WHAT WAS FUJITSU THINKING? Oh yeah, screw the customer so they'll buy another Fujitsu scanner that will work in Mac OSX. What actually is happening are lots of upset customers who will never buy another Fujitsu product again... including me.
